Our Commitment
Responsible design, material integrity, and ethical standards.
Our Responsibility
In 2015, the United Nations agreed to 17 global “Sustainable Development Goals” (SDGs) to be achieved by 2030, and we are strong supporters.
We believe CasusGrill™ can best contribute to this framework by focusing on responsible consumption and production. We direct our efforts toward this specific goal because it aligns directly with our core business and expertise: rethinking single-use product design with plant and mineral materials.
How do we contribute towards these goals?
SDG 8: Decent Work & Economic Growth
Responsible business goes beyond raw materials. As an active participant in amfori BSCI, we use recognized social compliance frameworks to monitor working conditions and promote fair, safe labor standards within our supply chain.
SDG 12: Responsible Consumption & Production
CasusGrill™ approaches product design by selecting natural plant and mineral materials over traditional single-use metals. By building our grills with bamboo, cardboard, and lava stone, we offer an alternative to single-use aluminium units while avoiding the need for petroleum lighter fluids.
Our Materials
The materials featured here represent key components across selected products in our range. Specific compositions vary by product. For exact material details, please refer to individual product packaging or contact us directly.
Hardwood Charcoal
Crafted from selectively harvested Namibian encroacher bush, our hardwood charcoal supports responsible land management by helping clear dense thickets to reopen native savanna habitats.
Certified under FSC® standards and sourced from supply chains adhering to amfori BSCI social principles, this dense hardwood burns hot, clean, and long without added chemicals or additives.

Bamboo
Bamboo is a plant-based material known for its rapid growth and natural regrowth after harvesting. Its density and heat resistance make it well suited for use in outdoor cooking applications.
The bamboo grate is designed for single-use grilling. After use and once completely cooled, it should be disposed of in accordance with local waste management regulations. In some areas, bamboo-based materials may be accepted in organic waste or composting programs where suitable facilities exist.

Lava Stone
The lava stone is a natural, inorganic mineral that does not biodegrade or decompose under normal conditions. Once the grill has completely cooled, the stones may be reused for non-food applications, such as drainage material in potted plants or garden containers. Alternatively, they may be disposed of in accordance with local waste management regulations.

Cardboard
The outer frame is made from recycled paper fibers, while the grate is made from virgin paper that is food-contact approved.
After use and once completely cooled, the cardboard components may be disposed of in accordance with local waste management regulations. Where suitable facilities exist, corrugated cardboard may be accepted for composting or other recovery processes.
Cardboard is a paper-based material that can degrade under appropriate composting or biological treatment conditions.

Bamboo Charcoal Briquette
Bamboo is a plant-based material known for its rapid growth and natural regrowth after harvesting.
The donut-shaped briquette design works together with the lava stone base to promote even heat distribution and efficient fuel utilization, providing an alternative to traditional single-use metal grills.
When used with Quick Oxylite™, the bamboo briquettes typically reach cooking temperature in approximately 5 minutes and provide consistent cooking heat for up to 60 minutes under normal operating conditions.

Care & Disposal
Our grill components are made from plant-based materials and natural mineral insulation to simplify handling after use. Always allow the grill to cool completely before disposal.
Paperboard & Bamboo
Once the grill is completely cool, the paperboard body and bamboo grates should be disposed of in accordance with local waste management regulations. In some areas, these materials may be accepted in organics collection or composting programs where suitable facilities exist. Food-soiled paperboard should not be placed in paper recycling streams unless specifically accepted by local programs.
Lava Stone Base
The lava stone base is made from a natural inorganic mineral that does not readily biodegrade. Once cooled, the stones may be reused for non-food applications, such as drainage material in garden planters, or disposed of in accordance with local waste regulations.
Campfire Disposal & Cleanup
Paperboard and bamboo components are combustible materials and may be consumed when used in a campfire setting. The lava stones will remain after use and should be collected once fully cooled.
Clean-Up
After the fire pit has completely cooled, remove any remaining lava stones and dispose of or reuse them appropriately to help keep outdoor areas clean.
Responsible Outdoor Use
Always extinguish the grill completely with water, sand, or another approved method after cooking. Dispose of all materials responsibly and follow local regulations and outdoor recreation guidelines, including Leave No Trace principles where applicable.
